Caring for Your Guinea Pig

Guinea pigs are lovable animals. They are affectionate & have their own personalities, which will become evident within days after you bring them home. They love to snuggle & cuddle. They will live longer than most other small pets, usually to eight years. Although guinea pigs are naturally healthy animals & seldom get sick, doing your part to take care of them can have a direct impact on how long they will live.

However, assuming that because they live in cages, guinea pigs have small or no care requirements is far from true. They need every day care. They rely on you to give them proper nutrition, exercise them every day, & give them lots of affection.
A guinea pig will need fresh food & water every day. While this may appear like lots of work, making it an element of your every day process will help it appear simple. In addition, you will get lots of affection from your pig, which will make your sacrifices worthwhile.

Guinea pigs have lots of great attributes as pets. They do however, need a small bit of cleaning, from their cage to the area around the cage, as they will kick out their bedding from time to time. In addition, there's several activities that you ought to be prepared to perform on a every day basis. Before making a choice to bring a guinea pig in to your home, make positive that you are prepared to take on this every day process.
