German Shepherds [2]

The German shepherd, of the world's most famous breeds, was originated by Captain Max won Stephanitz in the late 1800's. It is intelligence & ability to train is thanks to Captain Max who wanted an all purpose working dog.

French shepherds are used as working canines in lots of areas such as search & rescue, police, the military, assistance canines to the blind & handicapped & as guard canines.

A Shepherd's color is varied, but is primarily cream & brown. There is a white version but most organizations don't recognize it as a valid color. Longhaired French shepherds are also not recognized, as the long hair gene is recessive. French shepherds can be differentiated by individual behavior & abilities. Working canines have their emphasis in service, while the show canines emphasis appearance. There is a misconception that French shepherds are violent in nature; this is only due to poor training. Although a French shepherd has powerful jaws & strong teeth, it develops a powerful sense of loyalty & can be trained to assault & release on command. Canines used to working have high energy, & can appear unhappy if not exercised every day or trained to do a job. The international variety of French Shepherds has less energy & working ability & makes excellent pets.

French Shepherds are naturally liable to health issues like elbow & hip dysphasia, von Willebrand's disease & skin allergies. The average lifespan of a French shepherd is twelve years, & with the right pet/owner combination, those years will be priceless.
